Second Annual Amuse-Bouche-Off

Friday night I was honored to be invited to the Second Annual Amuse-Bouche Off.
You can read about the night that started it all HERE.
The theme of the night was "Breakfast" and the party was slightly larger this year, as word had spread about the delicious contest.

Here is the panel of judges: Ryanne, Kurt, Stacey, Jonathan, Jake, Erin and Ron
The contestants in the kitchen, rushing to put the final touches on their dishes.

Dish 1: Omelet Kabobs
Dish 2: Miniature Biscuits and Gravy
Dish 3: A Nutella-filled pastry
Each of the three dishes were given marks in four categories: taste, presentation, creativity and overall. After three dishes, it was time to tally-up the score.
After about 20 minutes of judges deliberation, the contestants were brought out of the kitchen and the scores were reviewed.
Jake shared the various points of excellence or any shortcomings from each contestant's dish, and then announced the winner: Jaime {with his Nutella pastry}
Last year's winner, Katie, graciously congratulated Jaime on his win...
After the quick celebration, we all ate turkey chili together...such a delicious night!
There was already talk of the Third Annual Amuse-Bouche-Off, to be held in 2010...my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

As a new and avid watcher of TV cooking shows as well as a French speaker, I was really stoked to know what an amuse-Bouche is...literally a Happy Mouth...
