One more from the list...
Brian lent me Gone With the Wind months ago, but I haven't been able to bring myself to commit to it. I was so put-off by the 3 hours and 53 minutes run time.
In hindsight, I can't believe I'd never seen it before.
It is so full of story and great dialogue. I was impressed by how fast-paced it was and really only began to watch the chapters climb toward the end of disk 2.
I imagine this movie will become one of my "traditions" with my future family.
Citizen Kane came in the mail while I was at camp...should be a great week.

i haven't seen gone with the wind yet, i've been tempted several times to but have been scared off by the long running time too.
i did watch citizen kane several months back and completely understand why it tops the afi list. an amazing film. i sat and watched it and then sat rewatched most of it again with the commentary by roger ebert. that was incredibly insightful too and made the film even more enjoyable.
Gone With the Wind is one of my all time favorite movies...I had seen it something like 57 times by the time I graduated form High School! My husband, who is a Civil War aficionado, still hasn't seen it, the running time puts him off too.It has the best lines too..."Tell me you love me! Tell me you love me and I'll live on it for the rest of my life!" Talk about romance!
