"Save the Earth"

A long time ago, pre "Heroes", I was in a 6th grade choir that coined the phrase "Save the Earth". Okay, we didn't make it up, but we did sing about it. Okay, we didn't just sing about it, we also rapped about it. Oh yeah, rap was all the rage in 1994.

The entire choir sang the song, but only the 6th graders were allowed to do the rap part.

Lucky for you I remember every word of pretty much every song I have ever sang in choirs...so, here goes:

Earth--Save the Earth--Mother Earth (4x)
Take a good look at the planet that you're livin' on,
What's it gonna be like in a hundred years.
Take a good look at the damage that you're doin'
Does it make you feel uneasy? Does it feel your eyes with tears?
Who do you think will be livin' on this planet when the garbage is eruptin' and the air is wrong?
Think, while you can, for the sake of all the children who must follow, think hard, be cool, be strong.

Then everyone came in:

Save the Earth (oh, oh save) our precious mother
Oh save the Earth (oh, oh save) our planet (planet)
Watch your ways (oh, oh watch) my sisters and brothers
Oh watch your ways for Mother Earth

i got to sing a save the earth song ("united with friends, i will save the earth...") on stage with raffi in 5th grade.

highlight of my childhood.

no, wait, it was really lame. i was equally as embarrassed as a 5th grader as i am now.
