Let's All Be Honest...

If you were 100% honest, how much time would you say that you spend doing personal things in an average work day?

Making doctor appointments, checking myspace/facebook/blogs, texting/emailing friends, planning a personal party or event, googling people you know, checking for your home on Google Maps...the list goes on.

No judgement, just a question...

Allison,

that is a good question. But I would also like to ask a follow-up question to that - especially for those in ministry. "How much of your personal time do you spend working on work projects?"

I know there is a lot of overlap for me on both of these questions - time I spend working on personal things at work, and time I spend working on work things during personal time.

It is a tough balancing act sometimes.

Thanks Allison.
Now I feel guilty and must go back to work.

I was going to say what Ryan said! When you work in ministry, you never turn it off! Allison, you were buying things for church while we were in Seattle! You checked your work email, you took calls to help with set up while you were gone!
You, of all people, know that occationally, you have to do personal stuff at work. But you very often doing work stuff during your personal time.
And you love it.

If you don't take a "break" which is required by law, can you just dabble around while you work a bit? Interesting!
