As a young child, girls often become frightened. This rush of adrenaline, many times, results in confusion, and the confusion causes them to make stupid decisions.
This is the reason that girls in horror movies run up the stairs when they should run outside...and this is the reason the girl in Jurassic Park is so stupid.
But, I have to say, if I were in THIS situation, I would react similarly.

oh come on
she saw the t rex coming at her and decided to scream instead of move in any way
then she tried to scare the same t rex away with a flashlight
all she does is scream in this movie. no excuses
