The internet is a wonderful thing.

Here are things I learnt from Dictionary.com and AskOxford.com

PLURALS:
* The plural of NO is NOES.
* The plural of CHRISTMAS is CHRISTMASES.
*When referencing a decade (ex. 1930s), no apostrophe is necessary.

AFFECT/EFFECT:
I am always unsure about this one...I know the rule, but always second-guess myself in the moment. (I'll bet you didn't know that second-guess was hyphenated.)
The rule is, AFFECT influenced the happening of something. EFFECT was the direct cause.

You are unaware that learnt is actually grammatically correct...It's the British English...I looked it up before I wrote it. Good try though.
