Light It Up

I am fascinated
by these outdoor lighting exhibitions
posted on Colossal this week.
{see more here}

There is something so beautiful
about such large-scale installations
and something so intriguing about
light in the darkness.

Don't you agree?

On Traveling And Staying Put

A few months back, I think this photo would have
stirred a longing for travel

to Kenya
to London
to New York City
to some place I've never been before

but

I'm so excited about
the adventure that is my day-to-day life
right now.

So much so that I am in no rush
to visit any place other than here.
{for now}

And I love that.

What Did The Dad Tomato Say To The Baby Tomato

It's June 7 and I've only posted one day of
30 Days of Creativity.

Time for a quick catch-up
{hence the post title}

:June 3:
a basket of snacks, affirmations and gift cards

:June 4:
A wrapping of books
"to begin an education in American Literature"

:June 5:
tissue paper craft with my friends' kids
{obviously, I was the only one twisting paper and gluing 10 minutes in}

:June 6:
Grilled {apple, pesto and} cheese sandwiches
Black-and-Blue-berry Mojitos
Blueberry Crumble

My team is taking a trip to Redding this weekend.
I am really excited to spend the four days with them...
I'm also interested to see what "creativity" looks like on a road trip!

Love. Love. Love.

The Kitchen Sink

I should be ashamed to share this with you,
but I have spent hours reading through
{and bookmarking posts}
from this blog:

I read through {about} three years of posts
in two evenings.

And bookmarked 48 recipes.
Editing those that included red meat--not for me
or those with such titles as
"make your own spaghetti"--also not for me

Here are five that I am really looking forward to testing:

Come on over for dinner sometime!

Thirty Days Of Creativity: Day One

Thirty Days of Creativity has been a little more challenging than I had anticipated!

June 1st was not too big of a deal,
since I had a wedding to attend and no gift had been purchased.

So, I made a quick bunting banner
for the sweet couple's new home.

That gives me day one--no problem!

Days two and three were much busier
making it difficult to squeeze in creativity.

I'm trying to catch up today...
I have three projects in the mix right now,
but since two are gifts, I'll have to hold off on the posting!

More to come...

There Must Be More Than This

My goodness, it was incredible. I was challenged, encouraged and inspired from chapter one on. Last night, as I was reading through the passages I underlined, I thought I'd share a short excerpt with you...you know, just in case you needed a little nudge toward picking up a copy.
'I saw, moreover, that it was not my good frame of heart that made my righteousness better, not yet my bad frame that made my righteousness worse; for my righteousness was Jesus Christ Himself, the same yesterday, the same and forever. [...] Now Christ was all; all my wisdom, all my righteousness, all my sanctification, all my redemption.' (--John Bunyan)
Oh, how different our lives would be, how free from anxiety, depression, jealousy, and discontent, how full of joy and praise, how easy to pray, how quick to praise, if only we could get a grasp of what God has done for us, given us, made us in Christ. But we need the Spirit to take the Word of God and break through those years of lies and sin to help us truly know what He has laud up for us in our heavenly chests. (p.72)
If you have read it--or read it soon--I'd love to hear your thoughts!
