That's the Night That the Lights Went Out in Georgia...

Day 2 of the conference...

I got to see Ted Lowe. Ted was on High School staff when I was a freshman and sophomore. Then he and his wife, Nancie (who was my freshman small group leader) left to travel and perform skits for youth groups and churches all over America. Now, he is on staff at North Point Church. He's the greatest.

Today, in his breakout, he had me stand up. He said, "Allison was in my ministry. It's strange how old you can feel when your students grow up and are in ministry...married...have children..." My friends in the breakout were like, "Oh, you're married?!"

Then, this woman in the bathroom spent about ten minutes teaching me "Line etiquette". There were two doors (one on either side of the restroom), I was saying (to Bethany, not the stranger) that it should be one side and then the other. Fair, right? They were just every-man-for-himself. Jerks. The woman told me that, clearly, those women had to go more than I did and I should just wait my turn.

In main session, they performed a musical-theatre number. Katie had tears in her eyes out of over-whelming excitement. It was actually very cool...and very funny.

Then, tonight, the conference took a road-trip: we drove about 20 miles to another North Point church campus where they had prepared a huge tent of food (hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy). Oh, and then Jeff Foxworthy (who attends North Point) did stand-up for about an hour...

Interesting night...one more day tomorrow! And then a Braves game!
