He Had It Comin'

When I came home from Palm Springs on Wednesday, there was a black spider in my bathroom...I know it may be gross, but I left it there. We made an agreement: as long as he lived on the baseboard, he could remain in the bathroom.

Today, he ventured off of the baseboard. He began to crawl across the carpet toward the door.

I actually said "You broke our deal" out loud before squishing him in about 6 Kleenex (I hate the feel of a crunched spider) and flushing him down the toilet.

My main fear now is that he will crawl back up the toilet sometime while I am sitting on it...yikes!

But, I think this is a good sign that I'm ready to move out...I can kill my own spiders.

Couldn't you have just picked him up on a paper and take him outside? Spiders don't hurt you...they are good! They eat bad bugs.

Flies, ants and snails are the only thing you are really allowed to kill.

Poor little spidy...

I'm so proud of you! It's the insect-killing equivalent to a batz mitzvah. You're now a woman...

Yesterday, there was a spider IN one of the picture frames on my wall, just crawling around. I had to get my dad to squish it....I guess I am not ready to move out.

i think the fear that a squished spider is going to crawl out of a toilet while you are sitting on it is an irrational one.
but i think that a squished spider would look ridiculous and would be too embarrassed about the way he looked to even crawl out of the toilet.
