Swahili Lesson

I have been Internet shopping for a Swahili language program...

I finally found one, thanks to Dan Hamer.

Here are a few handy Swahili phrases for you; try using them in conversation this week. (Swahili is pronounced exactly as it is written...no phonetic tricks like English)

1. Hello: Jambo

2. You are Welcome: Karibu

3. No worries: Hakuna Matata (and my mom said I wouldn't learn from watching TV)

4. See you later: Kwaheri

5. Thank you so much: Asante sana

6. My best friend: Marafiki Malele

7. I love you: Nakupenda

8. God loves you: Muungu a nakupenda

9. Bathroom: Choo (pronounced Cho, as in Cho Chang--Harry Potter's love)

10. Dairy Dots: Inastua Mbua
