Josh Garrett (Jitu) and Ryan Birtcher spent all six weeks in Kenya with Steve Rutenbar. They were a part of each activity for the three teams, and threw in a few special additives each week. One of which, we were fortunate enough to be a part of.
There is an orphanage in Kitale, Kenya called Tumaini (in Swahili, hope). A week or so before we arrived, Jitu and Ryan introduced the boys of Tumaini to Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. They, of course, loved it. They set up a projector and speakers and watched it on the wall of their church.
While we were there, in honor of Ron, we headed to Tumaini to watch Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Even I was a little amazed at the enormity of the picture and sound...and of course, the excitement of being with people who are watching it for the first time...
The boys loved the Ewoks and the fish-faced guy (Lando Calrissian's co-pilot). They laughed at Yoda's voice...
But my favorite part was the subtitles. When Jabba the Hut would speak, the English subtitles would come up and the older boys would read it to the younger boys. It was a small hum of chatter, yet I couldn't help but smile each time. I loved the camaraderie that it brought in the room...looking out for one another.
Since the movie is so fast-paced, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the only time they actually knew what was happening...but they still loved it.

I remember seeing that movie for the first time when I was little. That is awesome that they get to do things like this.
That's cool. I can see them pointing to Josh and saying he looks like Chewbacca with less hair.
